Goal Setting

People who win at anything have written goals. Goals are simply what you are aiming at. Zig Ziglar said,

If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.

In terms of success, goal setting has a big payoff. A study of Harvard graduates found that after 2 years, the 3% who had written goals achieved more financially than the other 97% combined! It doesn't always take an expensive education or the right connections to succeed on a big scale. For most of us, all we need are clear, written goals.

McCafe

If you haven't heard already, McDonald's has added a new area to their store, McCafe! They are now serving premium coffee drinks made by a trained barista. It mimics Starbuck's but with a cheaper price and easier to understand names and sizes. At Starbuck's you have Tall, Grande and Venti but at McDonald's you can just say "Small, Medium or Large"! The new McCafe is being testing out in Kansas currently and here is my take on it:

I'm all for it! I think its a great idea and will surely bring more revenue to the already successful McDonald's corporation. It will give McD's a chance to draw in the coffee crowd and they are also going to be offering wireless internet, so you can sip while you surf!

With myself being a Starbuck's lover, I limit my visits due to the high costs. With McCafe as a competitor, I predict that this will force Starbuck's and other coffee establishments to LOWER their prices to draw customers and keep current ones. And that is good news for the Frugal Addict!

Why Your Credit Score is IMPORTANT!

I have worked on getting my credit history back in good standing and improving my credit score over the past few years. I had things on my credit history which caused a low credit score in the 400's! I have since been able through a process of steps over the past few years, to get that score up to 849. Before I begin to review each of the steps I took to do this, let's first discuss the IMPORTANCE of your credit score.

I have read others in the whole "no credit" group say how you don't need a credit card, and you don't need to even care about your credit score. They say no credit is better than any credit. I disagree! Even if you NEVER bought anything on credit or took out a loan, there are things in your life that have the potential of showing up on your credit report and thus effecting your credit score.

Things like:
  • medical bills
  • utility bills
  • rent
  • and anything else you pay service for
Miss a payment or 2 of any of these and you run the chance of a ding on your credit!

So why does your credit "Score" matter? Years ago, it wasn't really much to be concerned about, but nowadays even landlords are checking your score before they rent to you! Not only that, but it is becoming a tool for employers in determining your future in their company and also insurance companies are using it to determine your insurance premiums for your car and home! Along with others, they have found that it is a useful tool in telling if you are a responsible individual.

Watch the video clip below and you will (hopefully) understand the importance of your credit score! She also gives wonderful tips, so listen and take note.
